Huge congrats to the lads that were awarded stripes on their belts last night; they were missing from class last week when I gave out stripes, so better late than never. As always, hard work really pays off and here's looking forward to a really productive No Gi training camp, as the lads prepare for the South East Open in Kent in April.

Last night's class
Another solid session last night, lots of takedowns, specifics and sparring and the lads will be hard at it preparing for their next competition in April, the South East No Gi Open in Kent, so lots of hard work ahead for everyone :)

Bronze medal at Brighton...
Huge congrats to young Luis who competed yesterday in the Juvenile division at the Brighton Open yesterday and came away with a bronze medal; a great day was had by all the lads who competed, three of who were first timers and will be back for more comps in the year.
Thanks to the ladies Cara and Ligia for coming down to support the lads and film their matches, much appreciated.
Was great to catch up with the usual suspects, Jez Lord, Yousuf from Elements, Kev Solomovitch, Patrick Jollah and all the guys from Checkmat Croydon, Elements and LFF, see you all at the next comp!

Faixa preta!
HUUUUUGGGE congrats to my dear friend Chris Brown who was promoted to black belt yesterday; we have been friends and training buddies for fifteen years and the promotion was long overdue and thoroughly well deserved...
Well done mate!

Pass the guard and attack the back!
Here's a cool video from Chewjitsu showing seven guard passes that transition into taking the back, racking up a hefty total of seven points in the process...
