Northern Monkey Jiu Jitsu No Touch Mind Attack System - 22 DVD set teaser!

Thirty years in the making and I'm pleased to announce the imminent release of my new 22 DVD instructional set, plus a worldwide seminar tour.

This is a sneak peak teaser of what to expect from the DVD set and seminars; I've transcended the physical aspect of training and am now able to use my mind as the ultimate weapon to protect myself from real world violence.

All I need are you bank and credit card details and I'll do the rest...

Safe Hands Self Defence!

Very pleased to announce that my student Siobhan Estick will be rolling out her self defence classes in Bristol, starting Wednesday 4th May :)

Wimbledon BJJ and Precision Self Protection look forward to supporting Siobhan and help her build up the business, which offers much needed help to vulnerable women in the Bristol area.

Last night's class

A very enjoyable session last night at SW19, with a Judo inspired session that included uchikomis, ash sangaku, okuri eri jime and lots of ne waza :)

It was nice to meet one of my student's brothers, Peter, who is over from Bulgaria for a week and trains BJJ in Bulgaria, so we gave him a welcoming shark tank as a nice souvenir :)

SW19 Deadly Viper Assassination Squad!

A great turn out from the Wimbledon Ladies last night, getting stuck into Bruno's session and giving the guys a run for their money, twisting up fools left, right and centre :)

No Gi class - Maffei style!

Once again, muito obrigado to Bruno for a killer No Gi session last night, a very enjoyable session with lots of hard work and plenty of rolling at the end, no complaints from everyone, myself included, great to be back training again :)

Great to have Craig Lawson down from Leicester for a session as well, see you soon mate :)

BJJ class - Maffei style!

Muito obrigado to Bruno for taking the class last night, delivered in Portuguese for the full Brazilian experience, delivering a session just like Bruno does back in Brazil...great fun and lots of sweat on the mats by the end of the class.

Bruno will be taking class tomorrow and will be No Gi :)

BJJ Maffei style this week at SW19!

Looking forward to classes this week, myself and my students are in for a treat as Bruno will be taking the classes tonight and Wednesday, treating us to Jiu Jitsu Maffei style :)

Gi tonight and No Gi Wednesday :)

Northern Monkey Seminar!

HUGE thanks to Mark Watson from Budo Shin Ryu Events for arranging the Northern Monkey seminar at the weekend, located deep in the countryside in Nantwich, a far cry from the polluted streets of London, not a emergency siren to be heard the whole time I was there :)

It was very humbling to have a number of high ranking Dan grades in Jiu Jitsu on there mats from 5th Dan to 7th Dan, the 7th Dan belonging to Sue King, all showing an open mind and ready to learn and get stuck in.

With Lucci Del Gaudio

The seminar was split into two, with two hours in the Gi and two hours No Gi and was filled with drills, techniques and shark tanks, with no complaints from everyone.

With Mark Watson

The seminar went over the allotted four hours, due to a few people arriving late, but that only meant more mat time in the bank and after the seminar, six of us met up in Nantwich town centre for a few beers and a much needed curry after all the hard work in the day time.

Sue King (2nd left) and the Amazonia Krav Maga ladies on my left :)

I really enjoyed teaching and am looking forward to returning up North again in the future and having more fun and I also taught the attendees a spot of Portuguese :)

Safe Hands Self Defence!

It's great to have Siobhan back at the club this week, as she gets ready to launch her Safe Hands Self Defence business in Bristol; Siobhan travels from Bristol once a month and we manage a couple of PSP sessions and two BJJ classes whilst she is here.

Since I last saw Siobhan, she is now training Muay Thai in Bristol and has secured two venues where she can start rolling our her classes to women that really need it.

PSP and Wimbledon BJJ are fully behind Siobhan and we look forward to teaming up with her in Bristol in the future, delivering seminars.

Monday night's class

Another hot and sweaty session at Wimbledon BJJ on Monday night, lost of hard work and shark tanks :)

ADCC 2001!

Can't believe it was twenty one years ago, when I was flown out to Abu Dhabi to report on the ADCC 2001 event for US based Grappling magazine; I had a column in the magazine, The Voice of Europe and on the strength of that, I went out to cover the event and was the highlight of my reporting days by far :)

I was a skinny white belt and I was hanging out with all my grappling heroes and rubbing shoulders with sheiks, not bad for a Bolton lad :)

In the photo I am with one of the competitors, the Brazilian Ricardo Morais, after a training session and an interview; he was so big, I couldn't get my arm around him, he was a beast of a guy!
