A quiet one last night, but still lots of fun No Gi style :)
Takedowns and rounds of sparring was the order of the evening for us all, getting the monkeys ready for their next comp in November.

Had a very enjoyable session last night at SW19, went over a few ways of opening the closed guard to pass and submit and dropped in some nasty bicep slicers to get you that DQ :)

HUGE thanks to my good friend Bruno for sending me over a can of 51 and an awesome club rash guard from Sao Paulo :)
The rash guard will be worn with pride and I can have an authentic caipirinha :)
A hotted sweaty session in the PJ's last night at SW19, another competition looming on the horizon to prepare for :)
Was great to have a Saturday class at SW19 yesterday, not had one for a while with one thing or another getting in the way.
Great turn out and as always, once the hard work was done, time for beer and err more beer :)
Another great No Gi session last night at Norbiton...the classes are takedown and throw heavy due to the excellent quality Zebra mats at the venue, lots of fun last night had by all there monkeys, throwing each other around the gym :)
Another hot and sweaty session last night at Wimbledon BJJ, getting the monkeys ready for their next competition in November :)
Great to be back in the Gi last night at SW19, playing around with open guard sweeps and reverse grip kimuras, always something to be experimenting with :)
On this day six years ago, I was promoted to black belt by Luiz Ribeiro at London Fight Factory, in front of one of my all time heroes Leo Vieira :)
A very special day to say the least, the journey took me seventeen years and many times I thought I'd never get there and now I've have the black belt for six years!
Never give up :)
After a good few years trying to get regular extra classes running in and around the Wimbledon area, I'm very pleased to announce an updated timetable for Wimbledon BJJ.
Three classes will run at Holistic Fitness Studios, SW19 1RG in Wimbledon town centre and two classes will run at Norbiton Train Station, with extra classes a possibility, should there be a demand in the future.
For more details and to book yourself a class please visit - wimbledonbjj.com/timetable
Had a great session over at Norbiton train station last night, flying the flag for No Gi and having the honour of our first female student sharing the mats with fellow monkeys :)
Wimbledon BJJ now has five classes per week available, a mix of Gi and No Gi sessions and details can be found here - wimbledonbjj.com/timetable

A very hot and steamy No Gi session last night at SW19, most likely the last No Gi session as the cold nights loom ahead; we now have a list of final comps for the remainder of the year to prepare for, it's been a non stop training camp throughout 2022, with the monkeys competing every month this year and bagging well earned medals along the way!
A new month ahead for the monkeys at SW19, another month of continual improvement and competitions :)
Great to see the students showing off their club t-shirts too :)
