It was an honour and a privilege to welcome Michael 'GIP' Cutting to the Wimbledon team last night; Mike trains at Kyouken MMA in Andover and is a pro MMA fighter and has fought on BAMMA and Bellator to name a few events and has fought the best in the business and includes a submission win over Nathaniel Wood.
I look forward to helping Mike on his journey and letting him loose on the BJJ and MMA circuit in the New Year :)
HUGE congrats to Alex on his well deserved two stripes on his belt last night, the guy's a BEAST!
A killer session last night, numbers back up and lots of sweat and hard work from all the monkeys, as we prepare for our last comp of the year at the Grappling Industries event on December 11th :)

Congrats to Antal and Andrew who received a stripe on their belts last night, after a tough shark tanking from all the monkeys, very well earned :)
Another great session last night at Northern Monkey HQ, went over a sweep, the Brabo and an escape from knee on belly, all rounded off with specifics and sparring...gotta keep it real :)
A great session last night as always at Wimbledon BJJ, went over a few lapel chokes from the guard and mount positions and plenty of specifics and rolling :)
Not a bad day at the office for the monkeys today, with a well earned silver for Jun and sadly a default gold for George in the purple belt division...George's opponent turned up and backed out with 'injuries' :(
One guy fought George a few months ago and got footlocked in under a minute, safe to say he more than likely bottled it :)

Another cool video with the students drilling a Suma Gaeshi throw from a kimura grip after some pummelling; keeping hold of the kimura grip during the throw, you can transition straight to a kimura finish, making short work of your opponent in a competition :)

Another great session last night at Norbiton train station...whether it's two or twenty two on the mats, students are taking time out of their busy day to learn from the Northern Monkey, so you have to give them nothing less than the best in tuition :)

I'm very pleased and honoured to welcome our newest student to the Wimbledon family :)
Rebecca is the club's first female purple belt and is a very welcome addition to the team and is the first female purple belt to train at the club.
All the students will learn a lot from Rebecca and will help push the team onward and upward :)
