Last night, Wimbledon BJJ had the pleasure of having a fellow BJJ'er on the mats from Renzo Gracie Brooklyn, NYC :)
Landon is originally from Wimbledon and was in town for a few days and dropped in last night and joined in the fun.
Looking forward to seeing you again soon brother :)
Ended the month in style with a busy session last night at Northern Monkey HQ; after showing two sweeps from the closed guard on Monday, I dropped in another two sweeps and a check Ezekiel choke from the back, ending the session with plenty of rolling.
Next week will be No Gi, looking forward to that :)
Congratulations all round to the lads on their awesome performances at the NAGA event on Saturday, coming back with two gold, three silver and one bronze medal :)
In time honoured fashion, Jun forgot to bring his medal in, so once again Mike saved the day and put one around his neck emoji style :)
A very productive day at the office on Saturday at the NAGA event for young Erik, expanding his medal haul with a silver and gold and if that wasn't enough, he was promoted to grey and black belt on the podium :)
Huge congrats from a very proud coach and all his team mates, more to come by the end of the year :)

It's Gi this week at SW19 and a busy and highly enjoyable class last night, as always :)
Went old school and showed a high percentage back take from the closed guard, a couple of sweeps and the deadly Brabo from closed guard, getting the monkeys au fait with having a strong attacking closed guard position, with options to sweep, advance position and submit...the whole package!
Wimbledon BJJ had its best day at the office so far this year at the NAGA event at Harrow Leisure Centre on Saturday and what an event to step up to!!
Five students hit the mats and mixed it up with the best of the UK grappling scene and came back with two gold, three silver and one bronze medal and placed in the top twenty for the No Gi Adults Teams Champions, not bad for a small back street club, training twice a week :)
HUGE congrats to all the lads on their amazing performance at the competition, you did yourselves and the club proud :)
Wednesday night saw the end of the NAGA training camp, as five students compete tomorrow at the prestigious event at Harrow Leisure Centre.
All the hard work has been done, endless shark tanks and rounds of sparring are in the bag, really looking forward to being there tomorrow on coaching duties and coming back with the bling :)
A killer No Gi session last night at Wimbledon BJJ, took the class through a half alch takedown, quarter nelson takedown and an alch counter when they defend the quarter nelson, plus shark tanks for the lads competing at the NAGA event this weekend.

A hot and sweaty pyjama session last night at Northern Monkey HQ, dropping in an old school triple threat half guard pass I learned way back in 1999 and it's been kind to me ever since :)
Back in the Gi this week at Northern Monkey HQ, with an open guard masterclass and deadly choke/americana combo from mount, before ending the class with an hour of rolling :)

A very warm and sweaty session on Wednesday night at Wimbledon BJJ, thank goodness we were training No Gi :)
Went over the quarter nelson with a number of variations including some deadly face bars and cervical neck locks, what's not to love??
This week we are training No GI, which is a good thing as we are enjoying a week of warm weather :)
Delivered a masterclass in guard passing, dropping one game changing detail on the guard pass, plus an old school kimura attack from the mount, ending with an hour of rolling.
