Wednesday classes

 Another busy day of Jiu Jitsu, starting off with the L'il Monkeys class and two Gi classes in the shape of Beginners and the Intermediate/Advanced :)

Tuesday classes

 Self Defence and Catch Wrestling classes filled up a cold Tuesday evening at SW19, lots of fun and hard work in both classes :)

Monday Madness!

 Started another week of training in style with the L'il Monkeys class, another busy beginners class and the main class to round things up :)

Main class last night

 Killer session last night, an hour of drills and an hour of rolling, hard work from everyone as always :)

Busy Beginners class!

 Last night's beginners class was busier than the main class, up to double figures already and only started these at the start of the month :)

Tonight's class

 A very quiet night tonight at Wimbledon BJJ, only the main class was on; nonetheless, a solid hour of throws and takedowns and an hour of rolling for us all, can't complain :)

Monday's classes

 Kick started the week off in style with an action packed day of Jiu Jitsu, with the kids class, beginners class and main class :)

Gold and silver at Pro Sport Grappling!

 The Northern Monkey Order got off to a flying start yesterday, with Northern Monkey affiliate club Submission Scoundrels competing at the Pro Sport Grappling event in Newport yesterday.

Club owner Chris Pethwerick bagged a well earned gold medal and Joseph Spence missed out on gold and got the silver medal.

An excellent start for the Scoundrels and the Northern Monkey Order, next comp is February 1st at the Grappling Industries event :)

Tonight's classes

 A bit of quiet one tonight in both the self defence and the main class, but that didn't stop everyone having lots of fun and learning lots of cool techniques, myself included, thanks to all the moves that are on social media :)

Main class last night

 Another killer session last night, more timed round doing Jiu Jitsu drills and lots of rolling to end the class ...our next comp will be the Grappling Industries a week on Saturday :)

No Gi class last night

 Killer session last night, dropped in a solid hour of timed Wrestling and Jiu Jitsu drills to get the lads really warm and then another hour of wrasslin and rolling :)

FAIXA PRETA!!

 FINALLY!!

After all these years in Jiu Jitsu, I finally got to tie a black belt around the waist of my student and right hand man George Brown in class last night :)

Over ten years in the making, George received all his belts from myself and was unbeaten in comps as a brown belt.

HUGE congrats from myself and everyone at Wimbledon BJJ :)

Main class last night

 Numbers getting back to normal now, a solid session last night, went over a trio of collar chokes and lots of rolling for everyone :)

Beginners class

 Four new starters last night to the Beginners class, numbers are picking up for this class :)

L'il Monkeys class last night

 A quiet session number wise last night, but not volume wise, did't know one kid could make so much noise, but at least he was having fun :)

Saturday Session!

 Had our first Saturday Session of the new year, a few hardy monkeys braved the icy weather to train, even with the heating on...we soon got warm and had a great session twisting each other up and finished the session with a few beers at a new pub, next to the South Wimbledon tube station, which was very handy for me to get home.

Classes begin today at 430pm :)

Catch Wrestling class last night!

 Lots of fun in the Catch class (plus a lot of pain) with plenty of takedown drills to get warm, a couple of submissions and lots of wrasslin :)

Self Defence class!

 Had our second self defence class last night and numbers slowly increasing, which is a good sign :)

Went over the technical get up in detail, striking drills on the pads, soft skills and one disengagement, slowly but surely picking up momentum :)

FAIXA AZUL!

 Massive congrats to young James on his very well earned blue belt, awarded last night, they first one of 2025, many more to come this year :)

Stripes for the lads!

 Dished out the first stripes of 2025 last night to two very well deserving students Alex and Lawrence, congrats lads, the journey has started :)

Last night's classes

 Another busy evening at Northern Monkey HQ, with the Beginners class that's steadily growing and an action packed main class :)

No Gi/Catch Wrestling class

 The new timetable is in full swing now and lots of fun last night in the No Gi/Catch Wrestling class, lots of cool takedown drills and plenty of wrasslin :)

Self Defence classes are now LIVE!

 I was very pleased to resume dedicated Self Defence classes at the club and last night I rolled out the first class and I'm glad I can have two sessions running at the club for now :)

Looking forward to growing and expanding the classes this year and in the future :)

Submission Scoundrels back on it!

 It's the start of a new year and all Jiu Jitsu clubs are fired up and ready to go again for another year; Northern Monkey affiliate club Submission Scoundrels were no exception and had packed mats last night, looking forward to getting over there in February :)

Last night's class

 Lots of monkeys still away in their home countries, but numbers slowly picking up, soon be at full strength come next week; lots of fun in the main class last night, going over crazy triangles from the Lasso guard, still think I'm in my thirties :)

Beginners classes back on!

Had a great Beginners class last night, a great way to start your Jiu Jitsu journey :)

L'il Monkeys BJJ classes now on!

 The new timetable is up and running now and last night I had the start of the L'il Monkeys kids classes :)

I've split them into 5-9yrs and 10-15yrs and I had two young monkeys on the mats and we had lots of fun; I've a few booked in for the 10-15yrs classes and I'm looking forward to these classes growing and start a L'il Monkey Army :)

Submission Scoundrels joins the Northern Monkey BJJ Association!

 I'm very excited to announce that the Northern Monkey BJJ Association now has it's second affiliated club :)

Chris Petherwick runs Submission Scoundrels in Tidworth and has come on board to help spread the gospel of Northern Monkey Jiu Jitsu in his part of the UK.

Chris's goals and visions for the growth of his club and his student's progression match my own and I'm really looking forward to us teaming up and hitting the comp scene hard this year and show everyone what Northern Monkey Jiu Jitsu is all about.

Submission Scoundrels joins Dog House MMA in a new association that's been ten years in the making and I'm looking forward to more clubs joining in the future.

No BS 'politics' just an association for like minded clubs who just want to train, improve and twist up fools 24-7 :)
