Bank Holiday Pyjama Class!

 A little quieter than usual last night due to the Bank Holiday, but an excellent class nonetheless, as always :)

Double wrist lock and counters workshop!

 Had a great day out at the Snake Pit on Sunday gone, meeting up with old friends and fellow Level 1 attendees for the double wrist lock and counters workshop with head coach Greg Crompton :)

 A very hot and sweaty No Gi session last night at Northern Monkey HQ, looking at the double wrist lock in great detail and lots of rolling for everyone, what's not to like???

 This week is No Gi at SW19 and the start of the NAGA training camp, lots of hard work and shark tanks ahead as we get ready for our next major competition :)

 A hot and sweaty session last night in the Gi at SW19; took the class through an old school single leg stack pass and shark tanks for the coloured belts and my good self, plus plenty of rolling to keep everyone on their toes :)

 Back in the pyjamas this week at SW19 and was great to have our ADCC UK veterans Mike and Jun on the mats; Jun took us through his submission win via a head/arm triangle and it was a more chilled class, after the intensity of the training camp for the comp, I showed a few techniques, but finished with lots of rolling :)

WCJJO British and World champion!

 An exceptional day at the office for my long distance student Mike 'GIP' Cutting, who competed in Walsall at the weekend in the WCJJO World Championships and National Championships, taking gold in both events, making him a 3x World champion and 4x National champion.

Excellent result for Mike, who's trained very hard for these events, we all look forward to seeing him soon at Wimbledon BJJ :)

ADCC UK!

 A great day out at the London Excel Centre on Saturday, with two students stepping up to compete; Mike came away with a silver medal after a very close and hard fought match, eventually losing 3-0 against a season competitor.

Jun won his first match with a slick head/arm triangle submission and lost his second match to the eventual bracket gold medallist in another close match, succumbing to a guillotine choke towards the end of the bout.

Overall, a great result for the students, both of them never looked out of their depth against their opponents, the specifics and sparring only classes really helped with their cardio, a lot for them both to takeaway and work on and the preparation starts tonight for the upcoming NAGA event in September.

 Killer session last night as always, the ADCC training camp is over and we have two monkeys competing at the ADCC UK event this weekend, really looking forward to seeing the lads step up and compete on such a prestigious event.

No Gi at SW19!

 Had a great No Gi session last night, lots of hard work from everyone, more of the same tomorrow :)

 Kick started August off in style with an absolute killer Gi session, specifics and sparring all class, lots of hard work and sweat left on the mats; as the gas tanks get bigger, more and more rounds become achievable before fatigue kicks in, confidence sky rockets and beasts are made :)

 Rounded off the month in style with a killer Gi session, specifics and sparring only and finished the class with a cool down roll the musical delights of Rammstein :)
