Jim Mc Sherry at CB Bolton today!

Big shout out to Jim Mc Sherry for driving up the M6 today to join in the Saturday class, couldn't have picked a better day weather wise! Shout out to the lads who attended the session, a cracking session, was a pleasure to teach and train when the sun is shining and hopefully the mats should be dry by Tuesday!

Thanks to Pricey for ensuring the last ten minutes of rolling turned into a scene from the Keystone Cops!

See you all Tuesday!

Had a cracking session at Caged Steel, as always, all the lads up for a good sweat and open to new drills and techniques, one of my favourite places to teach, look forward to the next session!

BJJ Demo - Blast from the past!!

Can't believe this demo was so long ago, back in 2003, at Sprawl 'n Brawl one of the best local MMA nights I've ever attended, the atmosphere was awesome! Darren Currie and my good self put on a demo in between fights, it was a HOT June night and those gi's did us no favours!!

Darren Currie @ Caged Steel last night!

Once again, another month flies by in the blink of an eye and I'm back to attend side control part 2, courtesy of brown belt Darren Currie.

A thorough warm from partner Helen, herself a black belt in the gentle art, eased the class into another fine session of jiu jitsu instruction, taking the side control on from the previous month.

A quick recap started the tuition and from there Darren introduced a few ways to tie up the arm and start to gain the upper hand, with a number of easy to apply high percentage submissions.

Drilling was the name of the game and once again another quality session comes to an end; also nice to see my old friend Andy Farrell down at the club, who I haven's seen since our stickfighting days many moons ago; let's hope to see this highly talented athlete back in the ring or on the mats!!
Until next month guys!
