EVERYDAY PORRADA - No Gi Seminar at Wimbledon BJJ!

 I'm very excited to announce that our very good friend Bruno Roberto will be in the UK in August and will be running a two hour No Gi seminar at the club; Bruno is with Maffei Jiu Jitsu in Sao Paolo and runs an academy in Osasco.

Bruno trained with us a few years ago when he was visiting family and we had a lot of fun learning his style of Old School Jiu Jitsu and we are all looking forward to seeing him again and learning Jiu Jitsu from the source :)

 Two killer classes last night at Northern Monkey HQ, starting with the beginners No Gi class and another awesome wrestling class with Claudiu, where we went over shooting and sprawling with a fine tooth comb :)

Monday Monkey Mayhem!

 Another week has flown by and another action packed Monday in the bag at Wimbledon BJJ; lots of fun with the L'il Monkeys and killer evening classes with the Big Monkeys, lots of fun and hard work as always :)

Wednesday Gi class

 A quiet session yesterday, lots of monkeys away on holiday, but that didn't stop us having a killer session, more like a private class for the lads rather than a regular class...the lucky monkeys had my full attention for two hours and I ironed out lots of potentials for bad habits in this time, plus we had lots of specifics and sparring :)

No Gi Tuesday!

 It was a very sad day yesterday, as we lost The Prince of Darkness, so in honour of the complete legend that was Ozzy Osbourne, the class was filled with the Sound of Sabbath, same again tonight and tomorrow :)

Had another monster Monday mash up at Northern Monkey HQ with four classes of fun, hard work and sweat, as always, with the L'il Monkeys and the Big Monkeys :)

Super Saturday Session!

 Lots of fun at the weekend with the monkeys, all the beers were very well earned, as per usual :)

 Had a brilliant Gi classless night at Northern Monkey HQ, going over the bridge escape from mount with a fine tooth comb and lots of specifics and sparring as always, lots of fun and hard work from all the monkeys :)

Monday Monkey Mayhem!

 Kick started another week off in fine style at Wimbledon BJJ, with four action packed classes of Jiu Jitsu; lots of fun with the L'il Monkeys and two killer sessions with the adults in the evening.

Brought my Spartan Body Armour kit to the club and played around with the helmet with the kids and gave the adults a taste of what a Combatives class looks and feels like, with a session on pressure testing the mount position, with heavy opponents on top position and then the heavy guys on top adding strikes to the head, which the guys underneath had to defend and bridge them off.

An absolute game changer when strikes are added!

Lots of fun, gave the adults a taste of what real world violence is all about, looking forward to more pressure testing now the gear is at the gym :)

No Gi & Wrestling Tuesday!

 Had two absolute killer classes at Northern Monkey HQ last night; had a busy beginners class, going over opening closed guard and setting up the Americana and ended the class with another awesome Wrestling class with coach Claudiu.

This month we are studying level changing and shooting in and last night we look at the differences in shooting in for the single and double leg, plus lots of wrasslin :)

All levels welcome at the Wrestling classes and new starters welcome at the beginners classes :)

Mega Monday Monkey Mayhem!!

 Kick started another week off in fine style at Wimbledon BJJ, with four killer classes packed with Jiu Jitsu fun and games :)

Great fun as always with the L'il Monkeys classes and two killer evening sessions with the older monkeys, filled with tekkers, tall tales from my security days, demonstrating the application of bone to bone when applying a head lock (sorry James) and a masterclass on the mount position.

Lots of fun for everyone :)

Wednesday is Pyjama Day!

 Another hot and sweaty session with the Gi last night at Northern Monkey HQ, starting with the beginners and ending the night with the int/adv class, finishing them off with some brutal rounds of rolling, starting with two and three minutes of throw for throw before the roll starts, not for the faint hearted :)

 A mix of No Gi Jiu Jitsu and Wrestling with Claudiu last night in the baking heat, training only for cascade grossas!

An awesome Wrestling class last night, a new month of learning level changes and shooting, really great fun and learning lots myself in these classes :)
